Dahab, Red Sea
Le Meridien is a true 5* hotel in the laid back resort of Dahab, which is about 1 hour away from Sharm el Sheikh. It is slightly smaller than many Red Sea hotels with 182 rooms, and all of them have a spectacular sea view. We actually recommend upgrading to a deluxe room because although a bit more expensive, they are superbly decorated in beautiful colours with a better location near the beach, a private patio with chairs and table, and even an outdoor shower - perfect for not trailing sand in your room after a day at the beach! As you would expect there are a number of different restaurants in the hotel, and another plus about this hotel is the high standard of the food in all the restaurants. And of course you can always pop into town - there are several cafes and restaurants in Dahab - it's not as hectic as Sharm el Sheikh and has a more easy going atmosphere, but you'll still be able to find beachside cafes where you can stop and have a mint tea.
